On January 22, 23, and 29, President & CEO Chris Lehnertz will be hosting “Community Chats”. The chats are meant to be informal gatherings that give staff a chance to talk with Chris about what is important to them. We will be collecting questions ahead of time for those that would rather ask questions by email, and sending out a summary after the events.
Questions for Chris can be sent to dei@parksconservancy.org.
Join the conversation at one of three locations:
- Wednesday, January 22 | 10-11:30 am | Presidio Building 103 Gallery
- Thursday, January 23 | 10:30 – 11:30 am and 12:30 – 1:30 pm | Alcatraz Band Practice Room
- Wednesday, January 29 | 1:30 – 3 pm | Fort Cronkite Building 1050

San Francisco's Noon Siren Getting an Upgrade
Have you heard San Francisco’s Tuesday Noon Siren is getting an upgrade and taking a hiatus? It’s a good reminder that caring for our parks, improving access for all and conserving resources for the future means being prepared and resilient when emergencies happen.
While we continue to work on our emergency preparedness at the Conservancy, it is important to also assess and upgrade our personal preparedness as well. One step you, your family and friends can take right now is to simply text your zip code to 888-777 to register for alerts from their local public agencies by text message following a natural disaster, major police, fire, health emergencies or significant transportation disruptions. For more steps you can take, visit ready.gov.

DEPARTMENT UPDATES
|
|
GGRO is seeking passionate biology or environmental science students who enjoy learning about birds and interacting with many different and multifaceted people in team settings. GGRO Interns will learn the scientific background of GGRO’s migration studies and our counting and banding field techniques, while discovering the ins and outs of a 35-year-old, muddy-boots, community science operation in an urban national park. Interns will learn to identify California raptor species, as well as other local birds and insects, and will also lead educational programs on Hawk Hill, interpreting the migration for park visitors and school groups.
