Departments across the Parks Conservancy have pulled together a resource list for free online learning opportunities. The list includes a variety of video and non-video training options, including resources from the NPS, State Parks, museums, Lynda.com and more.

In 1945, the first ever conference of the United Nations took place in San Francisco, California. As the COVID-19 pandemic currently necessitates shelter-in-place, the local chapter of the United Nations Association, in partnership with the National Parks Service, is taking commemoration of these historic events online to celebrate the 75th anniversary. Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed in May in the U.S. since 1949.

The day will include opportunities to participate in a variety of wellness activities -- from a photo scavenger walk to creative art projects and even cooking ideas. In this course, you’ll learn about the science of toxic stress, adverse childhood experiences, potential triggers in your park, and how to use a trauma-informed approach when leading park programs.

Park Youth Collaborative (PYC) is offering trainings for all staff. Including mental health trainings and the Culturally Responsive Teaching book club. You are welcome to attend even if you haven't attended previous trainings. Though the more trainings you attend, the more you will get out of the series!
