No matter how you spent it, we hope that everyone enjoyed Wellness Day. The DEI Committee put together a list of resources to help staff continue practicing wellness every day. You can read the full list here – and the DEI Committee will highlight resources from the list in the Commons over the coming weeks.

The new and improved Training Portal is launching in late May! This resource will support online learning, including scheduled (live) and on-demand content. You'll also find trainings hosted through Park Academy, Human Resources, Park Youth Collaborative, and our park partners. The upgraded portal will also sport a fresh NEW look and you’ll be accompanied by your feathered, soon-to-be friend, Owlbert—your Training Portal mascot!

The prospect of solitary confinement and isolation can be daunting and for many people, the concept of limited social connection can be overwhelming. This session will equip attendees with the knowledge and strategies to cope during this time and find new ways to form a connection with others in a virtual world. Using Nature to Build Resilience from Childhood Trauma (course run time: 70 minutes)
In this course, you’ll learn about the science of toxic stress, adverse childhood experiences, potential triggers in your park, and how to use a trauma-informed approach when leading park programs.
