Christine Lehnertz hosted our All Staff meeting on 2/18. The agenda focused on the upcoming layoffs and changes, performance reviews, our peer ambassador program, an update from our Organizational Design Task Force Team, and a presentation on our budget and strategic planning.

The recent rise in anti-Asian violence both locally and nationally has greatly impacted our local community and many of our staff. Katherine Toy shared a reflective note to all staff in support of APIA communities.

NPS maintenance projects at Fort Mason, Stinson Beach, Lands End, Sutro Heights Park, and the Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza have all been scheduled to start this month and next. Please take note of the areas that will be closed for each of the projects.

Presidio Tunnel Tops Opening Day is only eight months away! Parks Conservancy staff are invited to submit their photos for a chance to be featured in a Presidio Tunnel Tops Photo Show coming to the Presidio this summer. The photo can be from any park, anywhere, as long as it captures the joy of being outside. Email to commons@parksconservancy.org.

After more dangerously low temperatures for millions of Americans, many communities currently remain without power. It can be difficult for those affected to find the information they need to know what to do to stay safe during a period of extreme cold. If you have friends or loved ones directly impacted by this event, you may wish to review and share this information with them.

Freelance journalist and National Geographic magazine contributor James Edward Mills is working to diversify the great outdoors. In 2014, he authored "The Adventure Gap: Changing the Face of the Outdoors," which recounts the history of Black men and women who defied cultural norms to accomplish remarkable feats in the natural world. On 2/18 on NatGeo's Backstage Live series, James had an interactive conversation about some of his recent articles and efforts.

The Women's Outdoor Summit is for women of the outdoor industry to connect and learn from one another. This FREE virtual summit is from 3/11-3/13 will be geared towards cis and trans women, as well as people who experience gender discrimination in their outdoor professional and personal lives. We welcome all people who are comfortable in a space that centers the experiences of women.

The Banff Mountain Film Festival is going digital this year and will be a year-long event of exciting films and showings! The Banff Centre and REI have designated the Parks Conservancy as one of the local beneficiaries.
