Holiday shopping time is here! Columbia Sportswear Company has once again invited Conservancy employees to shop at their Employee Store! The employee store has brands like Columbia Sportswear, SOREL, Mountain Hardwear, and prAna at 40-60% below retail pricing. This invitation is valid until Dec. 10. Instructions for store access can be found at the link below. Note: Invitations are non-transferable, but staff may bring up to 4 additional guests. Employee pricing is only available in the Employee Store, but kiosks are available on the sales floor to order items online at the employee pricing.

9:30 am - 1:30 pm, Temescal Beach House. Join the Bay Area Climate Literacy Impact Collaborative (BayCLIC) in the next installment of our Local Climate Science & Education Series. Educators and scientists are invited to come learn about current research on extreme climate and weather events in the region like droughts, heatwaves, and flooding. We’ll also practice climate messaging techniques so you can be comfortable when talking with audiences of all ages. RSVP at the BayCLIC event page below.

This seminar will help you distinguish between stress and burnout, learn tips for managing stress, and review the 4 areas of self-care (physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental). Employees will assess their own levels of stress, discuss the barriers to self-care to collaboratively problem solve, and reassess their personal commitments to self-care. Lunch will be provided. The Green Gulch Zen Center, Muir Beach Volunteer Fire Department, Central Coast Rx Fire Council, and Parks Conservancy invite you to participate in an event addressing the beneficial role fire plays in maintaining healthy ecosystems and creating ecosystems resilient to a changing climate. Come and learn about fire management practices in our area, and see a controlled fire demonstration at Green Gulch Organic Farm!

We will discuss strategies you can use to combat the stresses of everyday work life. We will have interactive breakout sessions that will leave you with tools to breath deeper, move better and maintain higher levels of energy!

We will discuss what Elder Law encompasses and how an Elder Law attorney can help you. The discussion will focus on estate documents such as powers of attorney, healthcare directives, living wills, wills and trusts, and long-term care planning–including the different programs available to help with long-term care costs and protecting your assets for your loved ones. Dec. 11-13: ICS 300. Dec. 14-15: ICS 400. Hosted by the NPS. Intermediate ICS introduces the development of the Incident Action Plan (IAP) and demonstrates the interactions between the Command and General Staff sections of the Incident Command System. Advanced ICS is designed to allow you to enhance your command and decision making skills by participating in group activities that introduce the use of an Incident Complex and Area Command, as well as the interactions between Multi-Agency Coordination (MAC) entities.
