Call Out for Translation Volunteers
Are you fluent in a language other than English? Would you like to help the Conservancy reach diverse audiences across the Bay Area? We are looking for occasional volunteer translation help for public outreach campaigns. The Conservancy is joining forces with the National Park Service, the Presidio Trust, and other local park partners to offer a celebratory week of events, service opportunities, and educational programming. 11 am - 3 pm. Crissy Field Center. Park Prescription Day is being celebrated nationwide, and the GGNRA’s celebration is THE signature event in the country! We would love for Conservancy staff to bring their friends and family! There will be activities for all ages and abilities, as well as over 20 booths hosted by local organizations. 6 - 8 pm. Stretch your stress away with an easy yoga lesson from REI at this oasis in the middle of the city. If yoga isn't your thing, relax with a drink from the Fort Point Beer Co., and snacks from Whole Foods. April 20: Women and Finances
Noon - 1 pm. 201 Fort Mason, 3rd Fl Conference Rm. Women face unique challenges with their finances, including living longer, making less on average, and having less formal financial training. Noon - 1 pm. 34 Fort Mason Conference Rm. How can we channel the ways that the public connects with our sites? Laura Booth, an intern in Muir Woods, will offer takeaway lessons from the 2017 Geography of Hope literary conference. The talk will focus on "Place" through a lens of indigenous and/or biocultural relationships to the land, and discuss how to harness the patterns of these relationships to inform and inspire others to mobilize on behalf of public lands.

12:30 - 1:30 pm. Crissy Field Center. Conservancy Project Manager Tom Odgers will lead a tour of the sustainability features of the Crissy Field Center, including a brand new set of wind turbines, rainwater catchment, solar hot water, and more.

1 - 4 pm. Presidio. The third class in the soil series, join the very knowledgeable Stephen Andrews (UC Berkeley Professor, specializing in soils) again for a hands-on class to discover how the chemical reactions of soil cleans our air, cleans our water, and makes nutrients available to plants. You'll understand chemistry like never before!
