Since 2001, the Crissy Field Center has focused on using the national parks as a platform for increasing equity and access to educational opportunities, leadership development and recreation in the outdoors serving young people, their families, and youth-serving adults. Most programs are customized and co-designed alongside participants and group leaders. Check out our report to learn more about our programs!

The Parks Conservancy DEI Committee is offering four scholarships for staff to attend the People of the Global Majority in Outdoors, Nature and Environment (PGM ONE) summit. The summit–held May 8 -10 in Philadelphia, PA–convenes emerging and established professionals of color who work in the environmental and outdoor movement. Learn more at www.pgmone.org. 8 am - 2 pm. Lands End. Enjoy your national park with a day filled with uplifting volunteer work, live music, delicious BBQ, and thirst-quenching adult beverages! Give back in the morning by volunteering at Lands End, and then kick back at Sutro Heights Park to incredible views. Note: This is a 21+ only event. Please register below.

April 17 & 18. Building 989, Presidio. NPS and Conservancy Employees are invited to join the NPS's Allies for Inclusion Dialogue Series. The series includes four facilitated conversations around issues of relevancy, diversity, and inclusion and how they relate to the park system as a whole and Bay Area Parks specifically. Did you know there are free webinars available through Claremont EAP to help support you and your family members with life's concerns? This month's feature is learning how to do things to make change easier through "Change Management." Major life changes affect all aspects of your life. Whether positive or negative, change can be difficult to adjust to. Note: You will have to log-in to view the webinar and ask questions.

8 am - 5 pm. The Wilderness First Aid (WFA) two day course will help you prepare for the unexpected. This fast paced, hands-on training is designed to meet the needs of trip leaders, camp staff, outdoor enthusiasts and individuals working in remote locations. You must sign-up for Day 1 AND Day 2 of the training for certification. No previous first aid training is required. This course may also be used to recertify WMI Wilderness First Responder and WMI Wilderness EMT (wilderness portion only) certifications. Michael Chasse (NPS Botanist) will lead this class in an introduction to rare plants found here in the park. Come join us for a slideshow and a hands-on field exercise in rare plant monitoring. This session is an introductory session, which will make it so you can join rare plant monitoring field trips throughout the season. Full address and directions will be sent after sign up.
