Since 2001, the Crissy Field Center has focused on using the national parks as a platform for increasing equity and access to educational opportunities, leadership development and recreation in the outdoors serving young people, their families, and youth-serving adults. DEI Committee Conference Scholarships
The Parks Conservancy DEI Committee is offering four scholarships for staff to attend the People of the Global Majority in Outdoors, Nature and Environment (PGM ONE) summit. The summit–held May 8 -10 in Philadelphia, PA–convenes emerging and established professionals of color who work in the environmental and outdoor movement. Learn more at www.pgmone.org. The series includes four facilitated conversations around issues of relevancy, diversity, and inclusion and how they relate to the park system as a whole and Bay Area Parks specifically. This workshop focuses on developing inclusive communication techniques for professionals that perform or educate about ecological restoration.In this workshop we will describe restoration work, and come up with improved ways to use language in our jobs, out in the field, and with the public.
